Launched in 1990, Shalimar by Guerlain is an exotic and sensual fragrance for women that is named in honor of the lush garden of Shalimar, the favorite garden of Mumtaz Mahal, the wife of Emperor Shah Jahan, who built the famous Taj Mahal as a monument of his love for her.  It contains top notes of citrus, bergamot, lemon, fragrant cedar, and mandarin orange.  It contains heart notes of iris, bright patchouli, vetiver, jasmine, and romantic rose.  It finishes with base notes of scrumptious vanilla, incense, rich leather, opoponax, civet, sandalwood, sandalwood, tonka bean, and sensual musk.
